Inspired by GM’s Corvette Nomad dreamcar, both Chevrolet and Pontiac introduced this style for 1955 with their Nomad and Safari respectively. For all three years the Nomad took, and still takes, centre stage with the Safari being comparatively under-valued. In 1958 these distinctive 2 door wagons would be gone and their names transferred to relatively mundane four door machines.
